Accidents Happen…To
Be Preventable™ is a system
developed by Milton Jacobs, Certified Safety Professional,
for the main purpose of providing his clients with
a reproducible, preventative process at their site,
location or facility. It is based on the principle
that All Accidents Are Preventable.
The process came out of the fact that most safety programs
are complex, focus on compliance, send the wrong perception
about safety and have no systematic means to review
or "test" risks or hazard that have been
controlled.
It is designed to be simple to use, and
is based on 5 key principles and concepts that were
identified
in working with business leaders and safety professionals
throughout his 17 years of working in the insurance,
engineering and academic professions.
OUTCOMES/OBJECTIVES
OF THIS SYSTEM
The primary objective is to assist clients along
their path of accident prevention. This is not a
compliance
based process and cannot be used as one. Its’ primary
outcomes are to:
- Establish means to continuously identify
accident risks.
- Change the perception of employees
that safety really begins at home and comes through
to work.
- Get Management/Supervisors involved in
the process.
- Establish a process to continuously
review those risks that are controlled.
